Since we could not wait for days for SHW to come up with their compensation, and no one could tell us what this would be, we purchased a modestly priced new refrigerator. So in our case, we had to replace a not-that-old refrigerator that we were told by a questionable tech was not worth fixing. Yes, the price is lower than many, and yes, it was my mistake to miss the crucial small print: Their policy is that if a covered item cannot be repaired and needs to be replaced, the compensation will be based on (their unknown formula of) depreciation. If you want actual "piece of mind coverage" stay far, far away from this questionable outfit. If you want actual "piece of mind" stay away. Told Supv to cancel my contract & send refund asap. When technician got on call & explained compressor was out, did not report freon leak, Supv asked him get off call & then offered me $600 to settle claim. Insisted on 3 way call with technician since that is not what I was told. He stated technician diagnosis was freon leak that wasn't covered. When I sent copies of emails to BBB, got call from Supv. Received email from BBB that company had advised they reached out to me & no response!! Exact opposite - I couldn't get anyone to call me. ![]() ![]() Called Supv 4 times & sent emails asking him to contact me. Supv sent email advising he would assist. I called after 48 hrs - every day, some times twice day (11 calls) and was told expediting due to medical reasons & small children in home. He called from inspection & advised compressor out, unit needed replacing. Select Home sent their technician out 7/6/23. ![]()
